The Everett Theater
Middletown, Delaware

The Everett Theatre opened on December 7, 1922. It was designed by noted architects Hofmen & Henon and flourished as center for films and the cultural arts until 1979 as large theater chains and multiplexes reduced patronage. A group of concerned citizens purchased the theatre in 1983 and were determined to restore it to its former glory.

Today The Everett boasts live productions of shows such as "South Pacific,"
"The Student Prince," and "Jesus Christ Superstar," as well as featuring films that play on one of the largest screens in the Delmarva Peninsula. The Everett was featured in the movie "Dead Poets Society" with Robin Williams, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
